Brand Planning at Carmichael and Lynch

What’s the most exciting trend you see in U.S. Culture? Give and example of a brand that capitalizing on this trend.

Subaru is the quirky short-spikey haired high school Spanish teacher who lived in Spain for thirty years, rock climbs, wears lots of bangle bracelets and hints about smoking pot. She is the kind of teacher that makes learning fun, she stands up for you in parent teacher conferences and if you ask for help, she’s always there for you. __Subaru is newly married, baby on the way but not still ready to give up on the idea of a little adventure. Subaru is thankful for the creative childhood Montessori school provided and also very thankful for the structure engineering school taught him in his later years. He is the friend who double checks that you have your keys, wallet and gets you home safely after an epic night. He’s there for you. Subaru is prepared and well rounded. Subaru is consistently spontaneous. When you ask about adventure, there is a look in Subaru’s eye that says, “I’ve been there before.” With Subaru every risk is calculated, and spontaneity has never been more prepared.  

 In three sentences or less, tell us why you’re interested in going the advertising industry.

Advertising is undefeated. Advertising evolves with the world, and keeps it talking. Advertising defines the meaning of our connections with everyday life.

What’s the brief for why we should hire you?

You will not have to teach me how to be an adult. You will not have to teach me to have a work ethic. You will not have to ask me to not be on my phone during a meeting. I am excited about the future, I am excited about advertising and I am excited to learn everything I can at Carmichael and Lynch. I am a full-time student and a full-time employee, so I understand the vitality of staying organized and focused, and asking questions when needed. I have been working full time since I was eighteen years old, I understand the dynamics of business professionality, the value of hard work and the importance of being a team player. I spent my childhood wandering the halls of Crispin Porter + Bogusky, BBDO Atlanta and, Mullen Lowe, advertising is the lens through which I have lived my life and how I plan to live my future.
